Healthcare Writer

If you are a talented writer who understands marketing and knows how to engage with a wide range of audiences, this opportunity may be perfect for you. Dobies Health Marketing, a strategy-focused healthcare marketing and branding firm in downtown Kansas City, is seeking an experienced writer to join our healthcare content team. This position is responsible for writing, editing and managing content across a variety of channels, including print, web, video, social media and more.

The position requires versatility – someone who enjoys the challenge of pivoting from creative copy to white paper content and blogging/social media, sometimes within the same day. The right candidate will be naturally curious and intuitive, capable of quickly connecting dots between strategy and promotions, and ready to work in a fast-paced, client-focused agency.

Job duties and tasks will typically involve:

  • Writing and managing integrated, multimedia content including B2C and B2B communications for websites, creative campaigns, public relations, videos/podcasts, social media, white papers, case studies and other content marketing initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining content calendars, project plans and timelines; writing and executing internal/external communication plans for effective messaging and media placements
  • Setting blog/social marketing content goals, developing social media content, and monitoring engagement and effectiveness of organic and paid social media campaigns
  • Supporting and executing media outreach for public relations initiatives
  • Maintaining the established voice of the organization in all communications (for our clients as well as our company)
  • Demonstrating self-sufficiency to carry concepts and direction forward into finely tuned final deliverables

Special skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years’ experience in B2B and B2C content development
  • Previous experience in healthcare writing is a strong plus – healthcare writing plus agency experience will move your application to the top of the inbox
  • Extensive knowledge of social media strategies and platforms
  • Experience with online content management systems, and the ability to apply effective search optimization tactics in all aspects of web content development
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability strategically synthesize the primary communication objective into audience-centric copy
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented and capable of meeting tight deadlines, while also demonstrating strengths in creativity
  • Strong people skills; ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, colleagues and media contacts
  • Capable of quickly learning about new topics, products and services, exhibiting active listening skills and a passion for making healthcare brands come to life

Marketing Coordinator

Ready to put your project management and coordination skills to work to make a difference in how people think about health? Dobies Health Marketing, a well-established, strategy-focused healthcare marketing and branding firm in downtown Kansas City, is seeking a talented Marketing Coordinator to coordinate highly integrated marketing projects for our healthcare clients.

Our Marketing Coordinators are proactive and collaborative self-starters. Working with creative, content, media, production and client services teams, Marketing Coordinators support, manage and accelerate multiple concurrent projects. They bring strengths in critical thinking, project management, written and verbal communication, and attention to detail. The right candidate will show an enthusiastically positive attitude for making sure work is error-free, on time and on budget. This position reports to the Client Services lead.

Marketing Coordination

  • Support and coordinate project work – including complex and highly integrated campaign/communication materials – with the goal of completing milestones and deliverables on time, on strategy, and within budget and scope
  • Take initiative in learning/understanding each client’s products and services, culture/ethos and strategic marketing and positioning strategy
  • Coordinate integrated digital marketing tactics (organic and paid digital media) and maintain production, media and creative calendars
  • Provide project and administrative support to assigned client services leaders
  • Coordinate with media staff and account services to maintain media schedules and manage the approval and delivery of creative assets to media buyers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Marketing Communications preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in a marketing firm or advertising agency, corporate marketing environment or hospital marketing department
  • Demonstrates clear, concise written and verbal skills
  • Maintains a polished, professional approach to working with a wide range of clients and vendors
  • Able to work extended hours when work volumes/tight deadlines apply
  • Manages day-to-day coordination of multiple projects exceptionally well
  • Works efficiently and effectively with Microsoft (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Adobe Creative Suite and web tools (e.g., WordPress)
  • Project management experience, knowledge of tools and processes is a plus
  • Pays close attention to details
  • Prefers to be a team player and enjoys a fast-paced, energetic work environment
