Dobies Health Marketing, a well-established, strategy-focused healthcare marketing and branding firm located in the Crown Center complex in downtown Kansas City, is seeking a Director, Client Services, to take our healthcare clients to the next level in growth and achieving business goals.

The Director, Client Services reports to the Vice President of Client Services and serves as a senior strategist to ensure data-driven, strategy-first management of existing and new client accounts. The right candidate will also drive new business opportunities and build strategic partnerships to further establish DHM as leader in healthcare marketing and branding.

Primary areas of responsibility:  

 Account Leadership & Management – 90% of role:

  • As a strategic leader for hospital and healthcare accounts, oversee Marketing & Client Service Managers, who also serve as the primary points of contact for assigned clients.
  • Demonstrate healthcare marketing subject matter expertise and collaborate with the firm’s senior strategists to craft data-driven, effective marketing and positioning strategies (MAPS) and brand building.
  • Assume accountability for the health of client relationships to ensure their goals are met while ensuring firm profitability for existing and new statements of work and projects.
  • Ensure client objectives and goals are effectively translated into the firm’s content and creative development process.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with senior leaders for each assigned client.
  • Be intimately familiar with clients’ business, competition and marketing objectives in order to clearly define business problems and apply insights.
  • Proactively direct the implementation of client marketing plans, collaborating with internal teams to develop and assess creative concepts, implement campaigns, track campaign ROI, and measure/monitor client budgets, job profitability and defined key performance indicators.
  • Lead the day-to-day account management team to ensure SOWs are executed on time and on budget.
  • Proactively identify resource needs and support recruitment of additional staff as the client service needs and business grow.
  • Deliver work that is strategically rooted and creatively driven to produce business results.
  • Lead and inspire a team of high-performing, cross-functional team members and account staff.

Business Development/New Engagement – 10% of role:

  • Support new business development and RFP/proposal development with Dobies leadership.
  • Further develop and coach existing clients and renew and grow scopes of work annually. Continually advise clients of their strategic marketing opportunities.
  • Contribute regularly to the growth of the agency’s business and long-term strategy.
  • Identify the resource needs and support recruitment of additional account management staff to support growth as we expand.

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required: related field, Marketing Communications preferred; master’s degree brings candidate to the top of the list
  • 8-10 years of experience in healthcare marketing, communications and strategy required
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory/management experience required
  • Work experience in a hospital marketing or planning department. Experience within an advertising agency or leading hospital client is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of the strategic marketing planning process and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Strong background in marketing KPI setting, meeting and exceeding results

Dobies Health Marketing, a strategy-focused healthcare marketing and branding firm located at Crown Center in the heart of Hospital Hill, is seeking a Website Specialist with a passion for website management, design, maintenance and creating properties that drives traffic, leads and conversions. This position is responsible for overall project management, as well as building, formatting, updating and optimizing web pages in WordPress for our clients and our firm.

The Website Specialist works with our internal teams to manage the Discovery, Design and Develop phases of website creation to assure they align with client requirements. A critical component, the position creates pages within established WordPress templates and assorted visual/content elements to make design and copy come to life for the best user experience. The ideal candidate will be creative, efficient, and detail oriented – a natural problem-solver and someone with wide-ranging skill sets that support UX excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management oversight, with an emphasis on the Discovery, Design and Develop phases
  • Building web pages to align with design and content direction
  • Proactively collaborating with design, content and account team members as needed to troubleshoot issues, flow, appearance and readability of web content (including but not limited to copy, images, calls-to-action, navigation and formatting)
  • Ensure web pages display optimally on all screen sizes
  • Actively participate in web team status meetings
  • Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Identify and use the correct tools, resources and team members to answer questions and find solutions
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency as needed to ensure quality work is delivered on time and on budget
  • Review all work, checking links, metadata, etc. for quality assurance
  • Other tasks as required for page/post creation and upkeep

Essential Skills Required:

  • Proven experience working in WordPress for page builds
  • Ability to work with graphic design and excel at technical implementation
  • Experience with cross-browser/platform responsiveness and mobile web UX
  • Understanding good design aesthetics and functionality for web platforms
  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Proficient in website and image optimization techniques
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for responsive websites with adaptive design
  • Tracking and managing time in accordance with project hours requirements

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing multiple websites simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge of WordPress and HTML; experience and familiarity with the WordPress Enfold theme is a plus
  • Experience partnering/collaborating with web designers and writers for clear, cohesive final page content
  • Proficiency in the Google Docs Suite and other Workspace tools, as well as select Adobe Creative Suite applications (see above) and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization, time management, troubleshooting and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of other web content management systems preferred but not required
  • Proven experience applying best practices for UX excellence
  • Experience with tracking code installation (Google Tag Manager, placing pixels, setting up UTM codes, etc.)
