Emily Amos Joins Dobies Health Marketing as Director, Marketing and Client Services
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Dobies Health Marketing recently welcomed Emily Amos to the team. As a Director of Marketing and Client Services, Emily is a senior strategist who ensures excellence in account management, as well as the development and implementation of data-driven marketing, branding and advertising strategies. Keeping her finger on the pulse of each client’s business goals, she works collaboratively with internal and external teams to ensure all strategies and communications support those objectives.
Emily’s background in marketing communications spans more than 15 years, including roles at healthcare organizations and creative agencies. Her experience ranges from non-profits to academic medicine. Prior to joining Dobies, she was a Strategic Marketing Manager at The University of Kansas Health System for nearly seven years during a time of substantial growth in physician integration and ambulatory services. In addition, she has served as Communications and Marketing Manager at Children’s Mercy Kansas City and as a Senior Account Executive at a marketing agency supporting the needs of a wide range of health and life sciences companies.
“Through her experience and passion for health marketing, Emily comes to us with an in-depth understanding of the industry and the strategies needed to support sustainable, long-term growth for our clients,” said Angie Schwartz, Vice President of Client Services at Dobies Health Marketing. “We are thrilled to have her on our team.”
A native of rural Kansas, Emily grew up in a healthcare family – her father is a physician, her mother a trained nurse. That dynamic taught her the value of connecting people to better health at an early age. She says she’s long been fascinated by all the moving parts in healthcare and finds it very rewarding to support and strengthen organizations that advance the health of their communities. At Dobies, she oversees strategies and tactical execution for clinical enterprises, hospital associations, tech-enabled health companies and more.
“Shifting market demands and new innovations in healthcare are creating rapid change. Teams like ours are uniquely positioned to help break through the clutter for healthcare organizations and their target audiences,” Emily said. “I’m here to be a partner and a resource.”
In fact, it’s that expertise in healthcare that drew her to Dobies Health Marketing, a place where she can apply her knowledge and skill sets to support a wide range of health industry clients. She was impressed by the firm’s reputation, high levels of expertise, and the way the team is structured around shared goals for clients. She has a profound love of learning, as evidenced by her educational background: She has a master’s in journalism with an emphasis in Marketing Communications from The University of Kansas, and a bachelor’s in journalism and mass communications – complete with a double major in Public Relations and French – from Kansas State University.
“I think of myself as a student of change. I’ve had a great deal of experience with healthcare organizations going through transitions,” Emily said. “Now more than ever, we need to help clients and consumers navigate an increasingly complex healthcare environment – and get the right message to the right person at the right time to improve healthcare for everyone.”
